During
his nearly 40-year career in theatre, Edward R. has designed sets for hundreds
of musicals, comedies, dramas, children's shows, Carnival balls, and conventions.
He
is well known for his unique attention to detail and his creativity, often
utilizing the most mundane items and turning them into glorious representations
of moldings, ornamentals, period furnishings, and a multitude of ingenious
designs.
Included in this gallery are 4 of Edward R.'s sets from
the old Bayou Dinner Theatre, a particularly difficult stage to design
for.
Besides
having no wing or fly space and a particularly low ceiling, the thrust
stage had been built around 4 permanent load-bearing posts, a nightmare
for sightlines.
Edward
R. consistently overcame these obstacles with great critical and actor
acclaim!
The
gallery at left represents a small sampling of Edward R.'s designs, ranging
in size from intimate to grand, children's theatre to contemporary dramas,
large budget to virtually no budget at all.

production.
